Rex Lounge


What is Rex Lounge?

The Rex Lounge is a haven away from the noise and bustle of the terminal. Members can relax and unwind, or catch up on some work before their flight with free Wi-Fi. A private meeting room can also be arranged at for members the Melbourne Lounge (fee applies).

Snacks, tea, coffee and soft drinks are available for members to enjoy throughout the day, together with beer and wine after 3pm.


Where is Rex Lounge located?
The Rex Lounge is conveniently located at Gate G2 in Sydney Domestic Terminal 2, Gate 30 in Melbourne Terminal 4 and Gate 10 in Adelaide Terminal.


How much does membership cost and what do members receive?
Rex Lounge annual membership costs $329 (inclusive of GST). Membership provides access to the Rex Lounges in Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne on the day of members’ departure or arrival on Rex flights. One complimentary guest is also permitted per visit. An online application form can be completed here


How do I enter the Lounge?
Membership:
All members are given a four-digit Lounge Access Code and have their fingerprints enrolled in the fingerprint scanner. To gain access to the Lounge, you must key in your Lounge Access Code, place your enrolled finger on the scanner and the doors will open if verification is successful.

Casual lounge access:
Casual Lounge access may be purchased by customers holding Saver, Rex Flyer Ultimate or Getaway fare class for a fee of $33 (incl. GST).

Customers travelling on a Flex fare or Rex Flyer Anytime Reward fares are entitled to a 50% discount off the casual access fee.

Customers with Community Fare, Resident Fare or Promo Fare classes are unable to purchase Casual Lounge access.

Casual Lounge access can only be purchased on weekdays between 9am and 2pm and during lounge opening hours on weekends.

Casual Lounge Access can be purchased from check-in, the Lounge Attendant or at the gate. Entry is subject to space availability. Casual Lounge Access is for a 2 hour period. More information on Rex Fares and lounge access entitlement is available here.

Can members take guests into Rex Lounge?
Rex Lounge members can invite one complimentary guest into the Lounge, and for only $22 (incl. GST) a second guest can also experience the Rex hospitality. Rex Lounge members can invite a maximum of two (2) guests to join them in Rex Lounge. Guest passes cost $22 (incl. GST) per person valid for one visit and are available at the Rex check-in counter or departure gates. A Rex Lounge member must accompany guests and both must be travelling on Rex. Entry is subject to space availability.

1. Introduction

(a) These Terms and Conditions as amended from time to time and any rules published by Rex from time to time ("Lounge Rules") apply to all aspects of the Rex Lounge. In the event of any conflict between these Terms and Conditions and the Lounge Rules, these Terms and Conditions shall prevail.

(b) Your membership and Casual Access to the Rex Lounge will be governed by these Terms and Conditions and the Lounge Rules, and it is your responsibility to read and understand them.

(c) All Members of the Rex Lounge and passengers who have purchased Casual Access Passes are responsible for remaining aware of the current Terms and Conditions and the Lounge Rules.

(d) Rex has used all reasonable efforts to ensure the information provided to Members and Casual Access Pass holders in relation to the Rex Lounge is accurate and correct. However, to the extent permitted by law, Rex accepts no responsibility for any inaccuracy or misdescription.


Definitions

In these Terms and Conditions, unless the context otherwise requires:

Application Form means the application form to become a Member of the Rex Lounge;

Business Centre means an area or section located within the Rex Lounge dedicated to business purposes;

Guest Passes means those passes purchased or issued to each Member for the admission of guests to lounges;

Casual Access means the paid use of the lounge by a non Rex Lounge Member on a one time basis;

Lounge Facilities and Services means any of the facilities, services and arrangements offered or available to the Member from time to time as a result of membership to the Rex Lounge;

Lounge Attendant means the Rex employee present at and working in the Rex Lounge;

Lounge Access Code means the four-digit access code assigned to the Member by Rex for use with the fingerprint scanners at the Rex Lounge entrance;

Member means the person whose name is in the Rex Lounge membership records and who is a member of the Rex Lounge;

Partner Service Provider means those suppliers with which Rex has an agreement for the supply of goods or services to members;

Password means the alpha numeric characters which are chosen by the Member at the time of joining;

Rex means Regional Express Holdings Limited ABN 18 099 547 270;

Renewal Notice has the meaning ascribed to that term in clause 4.2;

Rex Lounge Annual Membership Fee means the annual fee payable by the Member to Rex as set out in the Application Form or Renewal Notice.



2. Membership
2.1 Individual Membership
(a) Individual Membership is open to individuals who are over 18 years of age and is not transferable or refundable.
(b) Individual Members must enrol separately and may only hold one membership to the Rex Lounge at any given time.

2.2 Changes to the Terms and
(a) Rex reserves the right to vary these Terms and Conditions in its sole discretion at any time and without notice.
(b) Rex will use reasonable endeavours to advise Members of any such changes, including by posting details of the changes on the Rex website (www.rex.com.au) but does not accept any liability whatsoever for any failure to do so.

3. Membership Access
3.1 Upon acceptance of enrolment to the Rex Lounge, each Member will be assigned a membership number and will be issued with an electronic welcome letter with the Lounge Access Code. The Password chosen by the Member, along with surname, security question, date of birth, date of joining, mailing address and/or recent travel details will be used for security of membership information. It is the Member's responsibility to ensure the membership number, Password and Lounge Access Code are kept secure.

3.2 Members should activate their Rex Lounge access by enrolling their fingerprint at any Rex Lounge. Members are required to provide the membership number and Lounge Access Code as indicated in the electronic welcome letter.

3.3 The Member agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

3.4 The Lounge Membership is not transferable.

4. Membership Term and Renewal
4.1 Term
If approved, your membership to the Rex Lounge will be valid from the time you receive your electronic welcome letter until the expiry date indicated in the letter.

4.2 Renewal
The Rex Lounge Annual Membership Fee is payable on an annual basis. Rex will use all reasonable endeavours to notify you of the pending expiry of your Membership ("Renewal Notice"). If you do not pay your Rex Lounge Annual Membership Fee before the Expiry Date shown on your electronic welcome letter, your Membership will be deactivated. To reactivate your Membership you will need to contact Rex (13 17 13) and pay the Rex Lounge Annual Membership Fee.

5. Rex Lounge Facilities and Services
5.1 Some of the Lounge Facilities and Services which are offered to the Member and Casual Access Pass holder are provided by suppliers over which Rex has no control. Arrangements for the availability and utilisation of the Lounge Facilities and Services so offered are made by Rex solely as agents for the suppliers providing such Lounge Facilities and Services. The provision of the Lounge Facilities and Services will be subject, in each case, to the terms and conditions of the suppliers providing such Lounge Facilities and Services and any claims relating to the supply of Lounge Facilities and Services should be made to the supplier.

5.2 For the avoidance of doubt, Rex will not be liable for refusal of any supplier of the Lounge Facilities and Services to supply the relevant Lounge Facility or Services nor will Rex be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever, whether in whole or part, of any Lounge Facility or Services.

5.3 Whenever access is made to Rex Lounge Facilities and Services, or Lounge Facilities and Services are made available to the Member as a result of membership, or to a Casual Access Pass holder, whether these are provided by Rex or a Rex Lounge supplier, the Member or Casual Access Pass holder will be liable for any and all costs, charges, taxes, claims or liabilities of whatever nature and howsoever arising from or incurred in connection with obtaining or utilising the Lounge Facilities and Services.

5.4 Access to a Business Centre or the Internet may be available in the Rex Lounge. Rex is not liable for any third party content on the Internet that the Member or Casual Access Pass holder may find offensive, upsetting or defamatory. The Member or Casual Access Pass holder is responsible for maintaining the security of all log-in identification information made available to them to access the Business Centre systems or the Internet in the lounge. Rex is not liable for any personal security breaches suffered by the Member, their guests or the Casual Access Pass holder when using Business Centre equipment or the Internet Access Facility in the Rex Lounge. Rex is not liable for any loss or damage suffered as a result of the unavailability of the Business Centre equipment or the Internet, including interruptions during use. Rex does not represent or warrant that the Business Centre equipment or Internet access is free from computer viruses or other defects.

5.5 A Member or Casual Access Pass holder who uses the Business Centre assumes all responsibility for all loss, damage or consequences resulting directly or indirectly from use of the Business Centre equipment and the Internet. To the extent of the law, Rex is not liable for any loss or damage suffered in respect of use of the Business Centre equipment or the Internet in the lounge.

5.6 All Lounge property (including food and beverages) cannot be taken out of the Lounge premises. Legal action may be initiated against such an infringement.

5.7 Rex expressly reserves the right in its absolute discretion to withdraw, cancel, withhold, deny access to, or use of, or in any way change the Rex Lounge, the Rex Lounge Annual Membership Fee or any of the Lounge Facilities and Services previously advertised or offered generally or to any Member or Casual Access Pass holder at any time, and Rex will not be liable for any loss or damage suffered by the Member or Casual Access Pass holder resulting from such withdrawal, cancellation, variation or change.

6. Use of Personal Information
6.1 It is a condition of Membership that you consent and authorise Rex to use and disclose to Partner Service Providers, and any other person (including without limitation a related body corporate, agent or contractor) the information on your application form and other information you provide to Rex for the purpose of:
(a) Rex providing services to you;
(b) Rex improving Rex customer service, including by means of research, marketing, product development and planning; and
(c) Rex marketing its products or services or the products or services of its partners.
(d) Any third party providing services to Rex
If all or any part of the requested information is not provided by the Member, the services provided to you by Rex may be affected.

6.2 The Member's country of residence will be determined by the mailing address nominated upon joining. The mailing address will also be used to determine a Member’s eligibility for promotions and other offerings. Changes to Member’s profile should be made online at the Rex website.
(a) The Member must maintain an active mailing address, phone number and a valid email address for official communication purposes. Each Member shall be responsible for advising Rex of any change of name. All other changes to contact details must be made online via the Rex Lounge website.
(b) Rex may send notices from time to time to the Member at the email address provided. Any notice by Rex under these Terms of Use by email shall be deemed given on the day the email is sent.

6.3 Rex will provide you with access to your personal information held by Rex on request by you to the extent permitted or required by law. Rex will correct such personal information as notified by you. Only the Member named on the account will be entitled to access account information or request the correction of such information. However, Rex may, from time to time, be required to comply with validly served and executed court orders and subpoenas and to cooperate with investigations by state and federal agencies. Under these circumstances or where otherwise required by law, your account information may be shared with others with or without your knowledge or consent.

6.4 Rex will only use personal information collected from you in accordance with its Privacy Policy. You can view a copy of Rex's Privacy Policy by going to Rex's web site at www.rex.com.au or by ringing Rex (13 17 13).

7. Termination
7.1 Rex expressly reserves the right at any time in its absolute discretion and without notice to:
(a) terminate or materially alter any Lounge Facilities and Services, or any aspect of the operation, of the Rex Lounge;
(b) revoke the membership of the Member of The Rex Lounge.
7.2 Any breach of these Terms and Conditions whether intentional or otherwise may result in termination of membership, cancellation of Lounge Facilities and Services, or both, at the sole discretion of Rex.

7.3 Rex may terminate a membership if, in the reasonable opinion of Rex, the Member has:
(a) abused any facilities, services or arrangements accorded to the Member as a result of membership in the Rex Lounge;
(b) the member has displayed or engaged in inappropriate behaviour whilst in a Rex Lounge which is or may be likely to be detrimental to the interests of Rex;
(c) supplied or attempt to supply misleading information, or make any misrepresentation to Rex.

7.4 Membership will automatically terminate in the event of death of a Member.

8. Access to Lounges- Guest Passes
8.1 Subject to compliance with these terms and conditions, Members and their guests are entitled to access the Rex Lounge in the departure port when their next onward flight on that day is a Rex service.

8.2 Member's Guest Passes are only valid for use when the guest is accompanied by the Member and is also travelling on a Rex flight that day.

8.3 A Guest Pass is required for each Member's guest over 15 years of age. Guest Passes are available from check-in, the Lounge Attendant or at the gate lounge. One complimentary Guest is permitted per visit; a second guest will be charged a fee per visit. Members are responsible for their guests. There is a limit of two guests per Member.

8.4 Sale of Guest Passes and Entry of Members' guests will be subject to space availability.

8.5 Rex Lounge staff have the discretion to refuse entry to any Member or guest at any time for any reason deemed appropriate by Rex.

8.6 Smart, casual dress standards apply at all times. Individual Rex Lounge Managers will have discretion to alter these standards if circumstances warrant.

8.7 Due to operational reasons, Member access to Rex Lounges may vary from time to time and may be restricted.

9. Casual Access to Lounges
9.1 Subject to compliance with all Lounge membership terms and conditions, Casual Access Pass holders are entitled to access the Rex Lounge for a fee provided their next onward flight on that day is a Rex service; or in accordance with certain Fare Types, may have Casual Access included in their Fare.

9.2 Casual Access Passes are only available to Rex passengers with a valid boarding pass for a fee. Passengers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by our parent or guardian. Casual Access can only be purchased for use on weekdays between 9am and 2pm and during lounge opening hours on weekends.

9.3 A Casual Access Pass is required for each passenger regardless of age. Casual Access passes are available from check in, the Lounge Attendant or at the gate lounge for a fee for each visit.

9.4 Sale of Casual Access Passes will be subject to space availability.

9.5 Entry of Casual Access as included in several Fare Types may be denied due to capacity restrictions or any other reason at the sole discretion of Rex.

9.6 Rex Lounge staff have the discretion to refuse entry to any Casual Access Pass holder at any time for any reason deemed appropriate by Rex.

9.7 Smart, casual dress standards apply at all times to Casual Access Pass holders. Individual Rex Lounge Managers will have discretion to alter these standards if circumstances warrant.

9.8 Due to operational reasons, Casual Access to Rex Lounges may vary from time to time and may be restricted.

10. Governing
10. These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New South Wales irrespective of where the application for membership has been completed by the Member or submitted to Rex, or where Casual Access Passes have been issued. Any action or other legal process with respect to any matter or thing in connection with these Terms and Conditions against Rex shall unless otherwise agreed by Rex be instituted and carried on only in the appropriate Court of the State of New South Wales.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions will prevent the application of your consumer guarantees in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law.
