Rex Brings Together North West Community for a Good Cause on Open Day

Regional Express (Rex), Australia’s largest independent regional airline, will launch its first Open Day of the year at Burnie Airport in Wynyard on Sunday 13 March in support of local charities Big hART and Arthur Support School.
The full-day event will take place near the Wynyard Aero Club at the Burnie Airport from 10am to 5pm with family-oriented activities – children’s rides, BBQ, live musical performances, circus shows and much more. There will be plenty of giveaways all day, along with a children’s colouring-in competition and a Grand Lucky Draw Prize of two return flights to Melbourne and tickets to watch the Lion King live.
Rex will also be organising exclusive scenic flights to Tamar Valley and Cradle Mountain for a spectacular bird’s eye view of Burnie and the coast. Seats are $40 per person and all proceeds from the flights and all activities of the day will be donated to both charities.
Big hART is a Tasmanian-based organisation that works on projects with youth at risk in North West Tasmania and other regions of Australia while Arthur Support School looks after children with disabilities and is based in Burnie.
Rex Managing Director, Geoff Breust said that organising the Burnie Open Day was a great way to assist the local community in the name of good fun and for a good cause.
Rex and Kendell Airlines before it, has a long association with the North West Coast and the Open Day is a small way we can say thanks to the local community for its support.
