Rex Responds to Record Oil Price

Regional Express (Rex) has responded to the continuing rise in oil prices by announcing that the airline will have to increase its fuel surcharge by $4.00 (including GST) per sector effective on all sales from 02 July 2008. This will see Rex’s fuel surcharge increase from $40.00 to $44.00 per sector.

Rex Third Quarter Earnings Rise by 8%

Regional Express (Rex) today released its third quarter unaudited results, which show the group’s profit before tax rising from $7.6m in the same quarter last year to $8.2m this year, or a rise of 8%.

Regional Express (Rex) has reacted to the sustained surge in oil prices by announcing that the airline will have to increase its fuel surcharge by $4.00 (including GST) per sector effective on all sales from 27 May 2008. This will see Rex’s fuel surcharge increase from $36.00 to $40.00 per sector.

Regional Express (Rex) today announced that as a direct consequence of the record high oil price, the airline will increase its fuel surcharge by $3.00 (including GST) per sector effective on all sales from 13 May 2008. This will see Rex’s fuel surcharge increase from $33.00 to $36.00 per sector.

Rex announces network changes

Regional Express (Rex) has today announced a number of network schedule changes as a result of the continuing pilot shortage. Rex will withdraw from the Cooma (Snowy Mountains) to Sydney route indefinitely, which had been planned to recommence from 6 June 2008, as well as reducing flying activities elsewhere in the network.

Regional Express (Rex) confirmed today that it had applied to the Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission for exemption from parts of the Disability Discrimination Act. This submission is the result of some two years of consultation with the disabled community and their representative groups and as such takes into account the views put forward by them.

Rex announces changes to Kangaroo Island winter schedule

Rex today announced that due to seasonal fluctuation in demand it would be reducing frequency between Kangaroo Island and Adelaide for a short period between Tuesday 20 May 2008 and Sunday 13 July 2008. The suspension will only apply to the evening service departing Adelaide at 6.55 p.m. and returning from Kangaroo Island at 7.50pm that operates Sunday to Friday inclusive.

Responding to steep and persistent rises in the price of fuel, Regional Express (Rex) will increase its fuel surcharge by $3.00 (including GST) effective from 08 April 2008. This increase will see Rex’s fuel surcharge increase from $30.00 to $33.00 per sector.

Rex and Air Link awarded 15 Air Transport Licenses for regional NSW

Regional Express (Rex) and its subsidiary Air Link have been awarded 15 NSW intrastate Air Transport Licenses which confer on the Rex Group the sole right to operate on these routes. The licenses commence on 30th March 2008 and expire 29th March 2013.

Rex Receives Parkes Submission
