The prestigious Aviation Week and Space Technology ranked Rex in top place in the 2009 study on the world's Top Performing Airlines. All airlines were examined for liquidity, financial health, earnings performance, asset utilization and fuel cost management. Rex's total score of 52 strongly surpassed the second-placed airline's score of 38 and the remaining contenders on the top 9 list are all giants in American regional aviation such as SkyWest Inc., Republic Airways, Pinnacle Airlines and Mesa Air. ces.

The 2009 rankings of publicly-traded airlines identify companies that are best positioned to weather the current global recession and recent volatility in fuel prices.

The following year in 2010, Rex was again ranked in top place, with the ranking conducted based on 19 financial ratios compiled over a period of 10 years. 2010 rankings identify those managers who have best positioned their companies for recovery from last year's global recession and volatility in fuel prices.

In 2011, Rex ranked in top place for the third consecutive year, being one of only two regional airline that saw an increase in the ranking score from the previous year.
